Performing 28 Years in The Annual Highlights from Handel’s Messiah

Year after year, the performance proves to be one of the most moving musical pieces of all time.  Lorraine Calbow, author, faculty emeritus and founder of the South Mountain Community College (SMCC) Storytelling Institute, has been performing in the choir for all 28 years. Calbow says “to sing every year with people to make beautiful music is indeed uplifting for me and to see familiar faces each season is like coming home to the SMCC family.”

The twenty-eigth annual performance of Highlights from Handel’s Messiah will be presented Saturday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at SMCC.

Under the direction of Dr. Jerome K. Garrison, SR., SMCC Music Faculty Chair, more than 80 vocalists and instrumentalists will participate in this year’s performance, comprising the Community Concert Choir and Orchestra.

Experience the performance this year for yourself.
