SMCC’s Isola Jones Featured in Concert, Sept. 21
Mezzo Soprano to Perform with Students in “Divas and Dudes”
WHAT:
World-renown mezzo-soprano and South Mountain Community College music faculty member Isola Jones will perform with some of her top students in “Divas and Dudes: An Evening of Classical Voice Performances,” in a special concert presentation on Friday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m.
WHO:
Ms. Jones, SMCC Adjunct Voice Instructor will perform with four of her students: Dawn Corso, Jonathan Ireland, Alonzo Jordan and Vanessa McGlothen. They will perform a variety of individual and ensemble selections, accompanied by pianist Brenda Hankins.
Ms. Jones has performed worldwide and sung more than 500 performances with New York’s famed Metropolitan Opera.
“The human voice achieves its zenith of expression when performing classical music,” says Ms. Jones. “I want the audience, and all potential students, to realize that if they love to sing, and are dreaming of performing, they can, with the proper instruction.”
