Public Invited to Grand Opening of New Veteran Center

The public is invited to tour the recently completed South Mountain Community College Veterans Center on Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Following the opening ceremony attendees may tour the center and enjoy refreshments. “SMCC is honored to offer the public an opportunity to view this enhancement to our campus,” said Dr. Shari Olson, SMCC President. “Our college has always strived to provide excellent services for our military students and their families. We are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of these veterans. ” The Veterans Center is here to connect veteran and military students with the resources they need – including tutoring, counseling, educational benefits and academic guidance. It is the goal of the center to be a place where these students can connect with one another and receive the assistance needed to achieve personal and academic goals. The new Veterans Center will be located in the Student Services building.
